The Priest Family

Unknown Photos

These photos were sent to me by Garnet Crider Ewing.  Her brother Bill kept in touch with the various branches of the family.  These photos were in his desk and in her Grandmother Minerva's trunk.

This picture is dated September 1, 1972 and written on the back is "My Daddy & me in his lovely garden."  Garnet has added "They are from California and Bill wrote to them."

On the back Garnet has written "This was in Grandmother's (Minerva's) trunk."

Garnet has written "This was in Grandmother's (Minerva's) trunk.  They must be family members."

Allifair Priest is in the back row the second from the left.  Garnet has written "That is my mother Allifair Priest, second from left standing - has white scarf.  I don't know the others, do you?  They look like some of the Priest family."

This group picture was in Ellen Priest DeYoung's photos

This is a picture taken at the Yokum School November 8, 1900.  Carrol "Gene" McClure identified the girl in the third row with the polka dot dress on as Minnie Priest (she would have been 11).  Several of the girls have the same material dress on.  We think the girl in the second row second from the right is Sarah Ellen Priest DeYoung (she would have been 7).  The girl next to her has a dress on made of the same material, but we don't know who she is.  We think that Della is the girl second from the left in the front row.  She would have been 4 and that George third from the right in the front row.  He would have been six.

We think Jim is the tall boy in the back row with Will on his right.  Jim would have been 13 and Will 11.

John Monroe Elliot Priest lived close by so his children could be in the picture.  Abner would have been 12, Charles 10, and Fannie 10.  Robert Hughey Priest also lived close by and his children Nellie 11, Elnora 9 and Robert 6 could also be in the picture.

This is an unknown Priest in a WWI uniform

W think this is one of Robert Hughey Priest's sons - either Robert or Everett
